Varian Medical Systems, Inc., headquartered globally in Palo Alto, California, is the world's leading manufacturer of medical devices and software for treating cancer and other medical conditions with radiotherapy, radiosurgery, proton therapy, and brachytherapy. The company supplies informatics ...
Electrical and software: The circuitry that interconnects and provides compatibility between a computer and an operator, support device (e. G. , timer, DAC) or communications medium (e. G. , serial interface) in a computer system. The electrical interface may be physical (involving a connector) or logical (involving software). It also means a circuitry or software that interconnects and provides compatibility between a computer and an operator (user interface) or peripheral device (communications interface). Mechanical: The physical mating surfaces of two components or subsystems.

Any of the axes could cause injury while moving. These include gantry, couch, OBI/PV arms, and collimator rotation.
Industry:Medical devices
Solenoid magnet over part of the accelerator structure. It produces a field that is parallel to the accelerator axis.
Industry:Medical devices
The complete process of generating a 3D data image from a set of 2D projections acquired from different angles. This process consists of three major stages, preprocessing, backprojection and postprocessing. The preprocessing stage takes raw projections as input and produces corrected projections as output. The backprojection stage takes corrected projections as input and produces a raw 3D image as output. The postprocessing stage applies corrections to the raw 3D images, thus producing the final 3D images. Each processing stage can be further subdivided into algorithmic steps. See also back projection; preprocessing projections; postprocessing 3D images.

The act of radiation leaving the machine unintentionally
cf. "leakage radiation", which is the radiation itself that is leaving the machine as described above.
