Microsoft has bought a cloud monitoring and automation company and made its technology free on Windows Azure. Company's Active Cloud Monitoring technology is immediately available for free to all Windows Azure customers. MetricsHub can generate metrics from virtual machines, websites, and web and worker roles on Windows Azure. Administrators can then set policies for actions and scaling that can be triggered by the information.
