The Bell Tower is the geographic center of Xi’an and the four main streets. The Bell tower was first built in 1384 during the Ming Dynasty in Ying Xiang Temple. It was moved to the present site in 1582 as a result of the city’s expansion.

The Bell Tower owns a huge bell which in ancient times was used to strike the time every morning. So we call it as The Bell Tower.
