A professional who directs and coordinates administrative activities of customs collection district and negotiates with interested parties to enforce federal customs laws and collections. Responsibilities include:

  • Prepares, reviews, and submits reports of district's activities to customs office and other government agencies.
  • Represents Bureau of Customs in meetings with individuals, representatives of private industry, government agencies, and in court.
  • Recommends and approves personnel appointments, promotions, transfers, and reassignments within district.
  • Directs submission of customs receipts and preparation of accounts as required by law and procedures of Bureau.
