The western part of the subpolar gyre in the deep (western) part of the Bering Sea. It flows southward along the Kamchatka Peninsula with speeds of 0. 2ā€“0. 3 m sāˆ’1. Most of its water leaves the Bering Sea and forms one of the two sources of the Oyashio.
