A monoclinic mineral, Ca2B14O23.8H2O ; transparent to translucent; occurs as pellets embedded in a matrix of sassolite and clay within colemanite-veined basalt at Death Valley, CA; also as minute lozenge-shaped plates aggregated into masses with calcite in veins in sandstone at Sasso Pisano, Tuscany, Italy.
