A professional who supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in sawing, shaping, and assembling woodstock to form furniture frames and mock-ups. Responsibilities include:

  • Reviews production schedules and confers with department head to determine production priorities, availability of equipment and personnel, and processing changes.
  • Examines furniture parts during machining and assembly, and directs workers to change machine setup or work techniques to eliminate defects.
  • Reassigns workers or performs duties of absentee workers.
  • Operates woodworking machines, such as bandsaw, ripsaw, and boring machine to cut woodstock to specifications.
  • Performs other duties as described under supervisor master title.
