A professional who tends wood-web weaving machine that binds together wood slats to form indoor or porch shades. Responsibilities include:

  • Spreads bundle of wood slats on machine bed.
  • Starts machine and feeds slats into machine jaw which grips and pulls slats over and under warp threads.
  • Stops machine to tie broken warp ends.
  • Positions shade on stapling machine carriage and depresses pedal to staple molding and splints on top and bottom of shade.
  • May tend machine that binds together plastic slats with decorative yarn to form window blinds and be designated woven-blind-loom tender.
